Salford, England Mission Base  Mission Bases Home

Overview

In October 2005, Adventures In Missions, England was launched. From September to May of each year, a First Year Missionary team joins them and interns in local churches and schools. They also spend time on the streets building relationships with local youth and adults and sharing the love of Christ. In July, an Ambassador team also comes to England, focusing on school ministry and sports evangelism. We are there to minister to their greatest need – the need of a hope and a Savior.

About

AIM Missionaries live in the Lower Broughton area of Salford. Salford lies about fifteen miles north of Manchester, one of England's largest cities. The people of Salford come from all over the world: Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Ministers and missionaries in Salford have a unique opportunity to share the Gospel with people from England and more than fifty other countries without ever leaving town

Vision

When I, Hanna, first went to England, I only spent ten days there. As I prepared to leave, I took some time to reflect on all that had happened. Almost immediately, the Lord spoke to me - Hanna, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Raise up workers.

Upon my return to the States, I began to talk to AIM about starting a base in Salford, England. For five years, AIM has sent short-term teams to England, but the area needed long-term workers. Within few months, the plans for a new base were born.

History

Like much of Europe, the English have a long church history, but a very small percentage of people have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many people do not understand how God is releveant to life today. Missionaries will focus on building genuine relationships with people and demonstrating that Christianity is about a relationship with God, not a mere religion

God wants to bring revival to England. The harvest IS plentiful, but the workers continue to be few. Therefore, those of us on staff in England pray, as Jesus did, that the Lord will send more workers. Are you one of those God has chose to answer our prayers?
