Ambassador Team Leader
Job Description
Availability
· Leader Training weekend in the spring.
· Secondary leader training immediately prior to team training camp.
· 2½, 4 or 5 weeks in the summer
· Leader debrief weekend in the fall.
Pre-Field Preparation Duties
· Read and know required leader training materials
· Read and be prepared to teach bible studies while on the field.
· Receive office updates on field logistics, schedules and team members.
· Leaders will be asked to send out letters to raise both prayer and financial support for your team.
· Participate in pre-field communication with your team, to pass along information, and begin building a relationship.
· Participate in a leader-training weekend in March.
· Help with field set-up of the trip as needed.
On-Field Duties
· Stay true to the vision and objectives of Adventures In Missions and the Ambassador Program.
· Set an example to your team thru daily quiet times and consistent Christian character.
· Demonstrate integrity and love in all things and encourage your team to do the same.
· Assist your team with personal and ministry goal setting, and hold them accountable to those goals.
· Maintain discipleship/mentor relationships with your team members.
· Handle crisis situations as they arise.
· Develop and maintain a good relationship with our partnering ministries and churches.
· Enforce stated behavioral standards and guidelines.
· Participate in regular leader meetings.
· Coordinate and facilitate ministry opportunities for your team.
· Keep team expenses on or below budget. Manage and record receipts.
· Regularly report to the AIM office.
· Oversee maintenance and general running of your teams lodging, facilities and vehicles.
· Take promotional photos.
Post-Field
· Reconcile all receipts, and turn in balance of team funds no later than the Leader Debriefing weekend.
· Complete evaluation of program.
· Attend Leader Debrief weekend
Qualifications
· Solid, commitment to Christ. Evidence of spiritual growth and maturity.
· A heart for ministry, missions, and discipling young adults.
· Previous leadership experience.
· Previous experience in ministry to young adults and/or cross-cultural missions
· Be able to teach and disciple young adults in a group and one on one setting.
· Available for all required leader training, actual program dates, and leader debriefing.
· At least 21 years of age.
· Strong people skills, strong management skills, or a blend of both.
· Creativity and flexibility to work with constant change.
