Preparing For Your Mission Trip
Group Leaders:
How well you prepare your group will make or break the effectiveness of a project. Unprepared groups can damage the credibility of our witness in an area, or even worse, the credibility of the host church and local pastor. We can lose the trust of the people and the faith of a youth group.
AIM's Missions 101 Group Leader's Manual will lead you through step-by-step preparation, with reproducible handouts for your group. We'll include culture-specific information about your project. You can cover all the material in eight sessions.
Encourage your group to learn and prepare skills such as mime, drama, puppetry, and music ministry.
Most importantly, encourage your members of your group to read their Bibles and pray together, because they'll be entering spiritual war zones.
Students:
Each member of your group will receive a devotional journal for use before and during the project. Also, each member should go through training so that they are able to share their testimony. They will be expected to clearly explain to a lost person how to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
