Translators Overview

Before the Project

  1. Once you have contacted us, filled out and application, sent in your pastor's recommendation, had an interview with an AIM staff and been approved to serve with us, you will be assigned a project location. This will be the location that you have selected.

  2. We will contact you before your project to make sure you have the correct dates and details for the project. At this time you will set a time and place to meet an AIM staff person near or at your project location

During the Project

  1. Once on the field you will be under the leadership of the Project Leader and/or the Translator Coordinator. One or both of them will give you all the details that you will need at that time. For example, who you will translator for, where you will go, where you will sleep, when the meetings will be held...etc.

  2. Once you are settled and know what you will be doing that week the rest is up to you and the Holy Spirit working in and through you. You can find more details at:Translator Manual.

  3. At the end of the project you might be asked to fill out an evaluation form. This form will help us (AIM) make improvements as needed on future projects. Your input will be very valuable to us.

After the Project

  1. After the project is over, the AIM staff will assist you in getting back to the place where we picked you up. If you need to get back to the airport or a bus station, we will get you there. From that point on you will be responsible for your own transportation back home.

  2. Stay in contact with us. We will want to know if you would like to serve as a translator in the future. Or perhaps you might know someone that can serve as a translators. If so, contact us and let us know.
